Rotational Molding
Rotational molding is a particular technique of molding thermoplastic materials that allows to obtain hollow products of various sizes. It is a processing technology particularly recommended for producing, in small series, large objects and internally hollow items that can not be obtained with molding injection, etc. In the Rotational Molding process, Rotodea uses the following polymers: polyethylene, polypropylene and, for some specific products, polycarbonate.
Process Description
The material (generally in powder form) is loaded into the mold and rotated simultaneously on two perpendicular axes inside the furnace. The powder during the heating phase gradually becomes fluid in order to reach every point of the mold inner surface, in this way we obtain a thickness which will become solid in the subsequent cooling step. In the last phase of the process the mold is opened for the extraction of the obtained product and to introduce new "powder" for the next cycle.

Applications
With this special technology, Rotodea can mold articles in Polyethylene, Polypropylene and Polycarbonate material for automotive, agriculture, nautical, urban, artistic and design sectors.
